My passion in my teaching is to create engaging and enjoyable piano lessons to encourage young people in pursuing piano and music in general, as a pleasure - not a chore. My lessons are not graded, I prefer to cultivate a long term love of music making and creativity as a springboard for future endeavours.
I encourage students to listen to a variety of music both in and outside my lessons which in turn starts to grow their ‘musician’s ear’. I often incorporate other art forms during class or homework, such as drawing to music, or rhythm exercises to counteract the tasks of learning note-reading. I frame my classes around the books Alfred’s Basic Piano Library: Prep Course Lesson Level A, Theory Book Level A, and then to Level B and so on (these can be purchased via Amazon) - as these outline the basic components of piano playing and music for beginners. I teach in your home, so a piano/keyboard must be available.
All in all, I take a creative approach to teaching music and I take care to understand the needs, personality and learning style of each particular student. My aim is to inspire a long term love of music and creativity over all.
I teach primary school children aged 4 years +
My speciality being between 6- 11 years.

TESTIMONIES
Our daughter loves her piano lessons with Hope. Her enthusiasm for music is infectious and her supportive and gentle manner makes her the perfect teacher. We would most definitely recommend Hope to anyone with a child interested in learning piano.

My 10-year-old son has been having piano lessons with Hope for almost a year now. I can honestly say he’s enjoyed every lesson and looks forward to them, And although Hope doesn't put any pressure on her students, he seems to have progressed at a really good pace. I can highly recommend her!
